Zhytomyr
Starting from the first days of full-scale military aggression by russia, Zhytomyr region has survived dozens of airstrikes and missile attacks. It is only during the first two weeks of this war, the russian occupiers carried out more than 40 missile and air attacks on Zhytomyr and the region. Civil and residential infrastructure suffered from them. In particular, on March 4, 2022, the aggressor destroyed City Lyceum No. 25, which had 1,275 children studying there before the full-scale war started. Schools, hospitals and churches, residential buildings have been systematically destroyed. Now the enemy continues the terrorist tactics, choosing other targets for its strikes. This is a critical infrastructure of the city.
470 facilities were destroyed or damaged
300 families were left homeless
80,000 residents are at risk of losing permanent access to water and heat
After another wave of missile terrorism from russia, Zhytomyr had to centrally turn off the supply of water and heat to all the city’s facilities. The situation with the electricity system, just like in the whole Ukraine, is catastrophic. We are talking not only about residential buildings, but also about hospitals, kindergartens, and educational institutions.
But yes! An important solution for an urgent solving the problem is the purchase of a powerful cogeneration plant from a leading manufacturer. In particular, one boiler house connected to a generator will be able to provide heat to 185 buildings in the city: it means to more than 80,000 residents.
What is especially important in this project is that this capacity will be enough to supply electricity to four medical institutions (children’s hospital, perinatal center, regional and city hospitals).
And this is an issue that should be resolved right now using joint efforts!
Mayor of Zhytomyr, Serhii Sukhomlyn, as well as authorized distributor of INNIO Jenbacher GmbH & Co Ukraine, “KTS Engineering” LLC, as well as the International Charitable Foundation “Glory UA” signed a memorandum on joint efforts for the purchase and connection of an autonomous cogeneration power plant manufactured by INNIO Jenbacher with an estimated capacity of 1 MW in order to provide electricity to the children’s hospital, the central city hospital No. 2, the Zhytomyr regional hospital, the city perinatal center and the city boiler house during winter.
Our foundation is involved in fundraising in order to buy cogeneration plant for Zhytomyr with a capacity of more than one MegaWatt. We ask you not to be indifferent and send financial assistance to our details. All collected funds will be directed to the implementation of the program to save the city’s residents from the consequences of russian energy aggression.
The cogeneration plant will allow maintaining suitable conditions for living in the city, will provide the necessary needs of residents in water and heat, as well as in the medical services of four large hospitals that serve the entire region.
